Music Is The Best

Music is the best!

When it comes down to it music is one of the most important things in my life.

Whether it is composing/creating my own music or listening to the music of others, I am very much driven by music.

While I like to think I have eclectic and unique tastes as to styles and types of music that I enjoy, I am really quite particular about what is good and what sucks.

In the pages that flow in the future I will spew forth opinions and bring up names and make suggestions. This is an open forum so by all means tell me what you think and feel free to particpate.

I will cover all generes of music whether I like the music or not.

Generally I tolerate most all music except for really twangy old fashioned country (barf!). I can tolerate country like Shania Twain (swoon) but in general I stay away from it.

As to personal preferences I will point out a few key and influential bands and musicians.

At the top of the list is Adrian Belew. Known for his work inKing Crimson, it is really his solo stuff that gets me off! Also his earlier work with Frank Zappa. And perhaps most notably his side venture with his group The Bears (one of the best live shows I have ever seen).

Other faves: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Frank Zappa, Dada, XTC, Linkin Park, Cardigans... geez there are so many... I'll get into the specifics later.

Well heres to a pleasant meeting of the minds and to discussions of great music and also music that sucks too! Face it's fun to lambast things we think sucks!
